ATLANTIC IMMIGRATION PILOT PROGRAM

Atlantic Immigration Pilot (AIPP) is employer-driven. It helps employers in four Atlantic Provinces (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland & Labrador, Prince Edward Island) to hire the foreign skilled workers who want to immigrate to Atlantic Canada and international graduates who want to stay in Atlantic Canada after they graduate.

There are some advantages

  • Employers are not required to get a Labour Market Impact Assessment. Instead, they need to meet the requirements to become designated.
  • There is no point system.
  • Less processing time. Applications will be processed in six months or less in the majority of cases.
  • Employer supports candidate and their family’s settlement (for instance-housing, language) and integration in community and workplace in partnership with the settlement service provider organization.
  • Less Language requirement i.e. CLB 4 with minimum education requirement as high school.
  • Settlement funds are much lower than other federal program.
  • Opportunity to get work permit prior while PR application is in process.

Three programs are operated under AIPP which targets different skilled candidates:

  • Atlantic International Graduate Program:
  • This program targets the candidates who have a degree, diploma or other credential from a publicly-funded institution in an Atlantic province along with other requirements.

  • Atlantic High-Skilled Program:
  • This program targets candidates with experience in management, professional (with a university degree), or technical/skilled (with college diploma or training as an apprentice). The candidate must also meet other requirements.

  • Atlantic Intermediate-Skilled Program:
  • This program targets candidates with experience in management, professional (with a university degree), technical/skilled (with college diploma or training as an apprentice) or intermediate (with high school and/or job-specific training). The candidate must also meet other requirements.
